ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Tabu ถูกสร้างโดยผู้กำกับ 2 คน คือ F.W. Murnau ผู้สร้าง Nosferatu, Sunrise และ Robert Flaherty ผู้สร้าง Nanook of the North ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง TABU ถ่ายทำที่ตาฮิติ Tabu เป็นเรื่องราวของชาวเกาะและความรักของหนุ่มสาวชาวที่มีต่อกัน ภาพยนตร์นำเสนอวิถีชีวิตความเป็นอยู่โดยธรรมชาติของชาวเกาะเรื่องราวดู เหมือนจะมีแต่ความสุข แต่ต่อมาหญิงสาวถูกคำสั่งจากหัวหน้าเผ่าให้เป็นหญิงสาวต้องห้ามสำหรับผู้ชาย ทุกคนทำให้ทั้งคู่ไม่สมหวังในความรัก Tabu เป็นหนึ่งในภาพยนตร์ขาวดำที่งดงามที่สุด และเคยได้รับรางวัลออสการ์ในปี 1931
