ปลอกมืดทำมาจากหวาย 7 ชิ้นที่พับครึ่ง หวายที่ฟั่นเป็นเชือกในรูปวงแหวนทำหน้าที่รัดโครงไม้ทั้งเจ็ดชิ้น ปลายด้านหนึ่งของปลอกจะเปิดกว้าง และมีหวายอีกเส้นหนึ่งที่พันโดยรอบปลอก
The sheath is formed out of seven pieces of rotang which are folded in the middle. Three plaited rotang rings are slipped on the sheath. The ends of the rotang pieces from the opening of the sheath. These are split once and a rotang strip is wound around them.
