With this film, Jean Rouch leaves quite the traditional field of ethnology. "I followed a small group of young Nigerian migrants in Treichville, a suburb of Abidjan. I offered to do a movie where they had the right to do anything and everything. So we improvised a movie. "Improvisation was not spontaneous. Rouch had spent half a year to observe his characters. The Good Woman of the story is Aoi. In Thai, her name means 'sugar cane' or 'sweet' - not her real name but the one she uses. She works as a prostitute, catering to the male tourists who crowd the girlie bars of Patpong. "They stayed at a seedy hotel in the red-light district. Much of the filming and video recording took place there, and in the months that followed he fell in love with her." "He paid and was her customer. She became the subject of his film." Starting from this worst-possible condition, Aoi's life is described and their relationship is recorded: its evolution from fake sexual intimacy to collusion in the process of making the film and, finally, to difficult friendship and a kind of love.

Mr. Xie lives in Dawan, a typical Dai village in province of Dehong that is part of a drug-smuggling route from Myanmar. In Spring 2002, the authorities sent his son to a drug rehabilitation center in Chuxiong, leaving Mr. Xie and his wife to care for themselves. Although he battles illness, he has no money for hospital treatment. Meanwhile, harvest season approaches, but the sugar cane and corn crops are left untouched in the fields.

Virtual borders เป็นภาพยนตร์บอกเล่าเรื่องราวของผู้นำชาวอาข่าชื่อ Abaw Buseuv ที่ได้เดินทางจากประเทศไทยไปยังประเทศจีนเพื่อเข้าร่วมการชุมนุมของชาวอาข่า มีการกระจายเสียงและส่งข้อมูลไปยังชาวอาข่าที่อยู่ในประเทศไทย อาข่าเป็นชนกลุ่มน้อยที่กระจายอยู่ทั่วไปในพื้นที่ชายแดนของห้าประเทศ ได้แก่ ไทย พม่า (เมียนมาร์), จีน, เวียดนาม และลาว นอกจาการชุมนุมแล้วภาพยนตร์ยังได้นำเสนอเรื่องราวชีวิตและความเป็นอยู่ของอา ข่าด้วย

On the front line of conflict deep inside Burma this documentary follows ethnic relief workers as they aid internally displaced people suffering under the Burma Army. Focusing on a female medic and a pastor/human rights cameraman, the film reveals a people that have maintained their dignity and hope for peace despite the odds.
