Databases
One of the foremost tasks and primary responsibilites of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (SAC) is to survey and collect data and to develop academic knowledge that will contribute to fields in the social sciences and the humanities such as anthropology, archaeology, art history and cultural studies.
To that end, one of the most important activities of SAC is the development and establishment of searchable academic databases on a variety of topics relevant to the histories, societies and cultures of Thailand and Southeast Asia. Furthermore we strive to make these databases available to anyone who is interested in them both electronically and through the library at the Centre.
In addition, the Centre is continuously working to expand existing databases and to establish new databases for scholarly research in a wide variety of disciplines with the aim of developing and supporting research in anthropology and related fieds. To that end, we encourage individuals interested in contributing to our Program for Database Development to contact SAC for more information.
