This film exists since I have met the traditional Shipibo healers and their sacred plant, the Ayahuasca. The collector DVD is an invitation to a more documented journey about the mysteries of this medicine. A door opened on an other world.

The film shows how betel is prepared and then chewed. It is made out of the leaf of the betel-vine, small pieces of areaca nut, lime and tobacco.

ดอกฝิ่นถูกกรีดด้วยมีดกรีดสามแฉก ยางสีขาวจะไหลออกมาตามรอยกรีด หลังจากที่ทิ้งไว้หนึ่งวัน ยางจะเหนียวเป็นก้อนและเปลี่ยนเป็นสีน้ำตาลปนดำ ยางนี้จะถูกขูดออกมาไว้รวมกัน โดยห่อไว้ในกลีบดอกฝิ่น

The poppy heads are cut with a three-edged knife. A milky juice comes out of the incisions. The thickened milky juice which while thickening changed its coulour to blackish-brown is collected with a scraper from the heads which were cut the day before. It is then wrapped up in a flower petal.

An opium smoker prepares a place where he can recline, spreads out his smoking materials, clean the bowl of the pipe, kneads a drop of opium, puts it into his pipe, lights it at the oil flame, and inhales the smoke.
