Title
Narongkhachit Jataka
Description
Narongakhajit Jataka is a teaching poem with an unknown origin. It is understood to be an imitating Jataka. The author intended to make readers see it as a Jataka by naming it as a Jataka, and using a story about old Karma that caused present life events. The main protagonist is mentioned as “Nor Sasana” and “Bodhisatta”. In the ending, there are Jataka assembling, because the author might want to gain more importance and credit for the story, and it could be for merit as well.
Narongakhajit Jataka in the black Thai traditional book (Samut Thai Dam) of Wat Tha Phut Temple has some parts of the story misplaced compared to the Narongacitra Jataka story, included in the appendix of a thesis. Presumably, this was a mistake in the copying process. For the convenience of reading and completion of the context, the editor, therefore, would like to rearrange some parts of the story to match the exam copy, and, in the parentheses, refill words or texts which are believed to be missing.
