Dr. Tyrell Haberkorn

Tyrell Haberkorn is currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Political and Social Change at the Australian National University. She received a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Cornell University, where she completed her doctoral dissertation entitled States of Transgression: Politics, Violence, and Agrarian Transformation in Northern Thailand. Her first book Revolution Interrupted: Farmers, Students, Law, and Violence was published by the University of Wisconsin Press in 2011. She is now working on a history of impunity for state violence in Thailand since 1932 and a set of critical and creative pieces comparing gender, sedition, and political prisoners in the U.S. and Thailand.
