This collection consist of 268 records. They are divided into two series accroding to ethnic groups: Zhuang and Yao. Each series contains different kinds of material, i.e. field notes, reference books and pepers and publication from research.

Anan Ganjanapan

Scope and content :

The collection consists of 754 photographs which were recorded by Anan Ganjanapan during his anthropological fieldworks in Thailand. There are 3 series of material in his collection : Research at Ban Sanpong, Sanpathong, Chiengmai in 1980-1981, Ancestral Ritual, Prae and Lampang Province in 1986, and Wedding of Lau, Mae Hong Son Province in 1987.

Chin Yudee

Scope and content :

Prof. Chin Yudee's materials consist of 403 records of notebook and paper note, photograph, typescript, letter, book and card that were produced from 1962 to 1985. It was divided into three series; archaeological fieldwork material, official document when he was working for Fine Arts Department, and personal document. All materials reflecting Prof. Chin's working life as an archaeologist.

Chavivan Prachuabmoh

Scope and content :

The collection consist of 211 photographs and 6 motion pictures from Chavivun Prachuabmoh fieldwork trip, took during her ethnological fieldworks among Lao Song ethnic group in Petchaburi province and Mon ethnic group in Ratchaburi province. The fieldworks are conducted in different period of time from 1989-1999. The main study focused on traditional belief and ritual.

Chatthip Nartsupha

Scope and content :

Chatthip Nartsupha's fieldwork materials are consist of 144 sound recordings. These records are sound of interviewing people in rural area across 4 regions of Thailand from 1979 to 1983. They are 41 records from central Thailand, 20 records from northern Thailand, 48 records from northeastern Thailand, and 35 records from southern Thailand. The methodological approach he used in gathering data is "oral history". Chatthip travelled to numerous villages, seeking out knowledgeable village elders for their perspectives on past and present.

Charles F. Keyes

Scope and content :

Digital versions of photographs and slides from ethnographic fieldwork conducted by Professor (Emeritus) Charles F. Keyes in Thailand in the 1960s. The majority of locations depicted are in Northeast and Northern Thailand. Charles F. Keyes also wrote extensive fieldnotes during his fieldwork in Thailand that often describe the content of photos and slides. This collection aquired by the collaboration between the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre and the University of Washington (UW) under Digital Archive of Research on Thailand (DART) project. Chanan Wongvipak

Scope and content :

The “Associate Professor Chanan Vongvipak” slides consist of 2082 records from his fieldworks in different areas from the late of 1970’s to 1990’s. There are five series in the collections as following: textile-related studies, folkways, ethnic-related studies, cultural ecology studies and Zhuang ethnic groups. In each series the pictures are classified into different geographical areas in the country.

Charles T. Alton

Scope and content :

Dr. Charles Alton's fieldwork materials consist of 387 records of document from doing research in Thailand and Lao. Some of them are his personal documents.

Scope and content :

The collection consists of 101 records of documents, articles, and reports. 4 letters. 13 books. 1 photograph which were recorded by Lucien and Janes Hanks during their ethnological fieldworks in Thailand. There are 2 fieldsites that they took in Thailand: Bang Chan community, Bangkok in 1948, and the study of upland people (tribal group), Chiangrai province in 1963.

Hans Manndorff

Scope and content :

This collection consist of 857 ethnographic photographs from Manndorff’s anthropological research in Chiangmai, Chiangrai, and Tak province in Northern Thailand from 1961 to 1962 and 1963 to 1965. These photographs represent economic, social, ritual etc. activities primarily of six Hill Tribes: Lisu, Lahu, Akha, Hmong, Karen, and Yao.

Michael Moerman

Scope and content :

Michael Moerman’s fieldwork materials were created when he conducted his research about Thai Lue at Ban Phad, Payoa province between 1958 and 1989. This collection also contains materials from the study of administration of justice in Northern Thailand between 1967 and 1968. This collection includes research materials 5655 records.It consist of records of slide, photograph, punch card, letter, notebook, typescript, map, postcard, and motion picture.

Michael Vickery

Scope and content :

 The filedwork materials of Dr. Michael Vickery which include slides, printed photographs and negatives were taken from 1960-2002. Those photographs were including a photo from Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam etc. Many pictures were taken for his curiosity and pleasure, research as well as for his Ph.D. dessertation. The pictures were including ceremonies, daily events, festivals, cultural performances, archeological sites, temples, architectures, museums, and ethnic groups etc. However, many of curiousity pictures were taken when he had a vacation from school in Kompong Thom province, Cambodia, for example, pictures from Laos, Myanmar, and Indonesia.

Otome Klein Hutheesing

Scope and content :

Dr. Otome Klein Hutheesing's collection includes photographs of a Lisu village in northern Thailand, Doi Laan, Mae Suay district, Chiang Rai Province; fieldnotes regarding her research in Doi Laan and other ethnic villages in the 1980s; personal correspondence with a Dutch friend  and childhood diaries from the 1940s.

Prasert Chaipikusit

Scope and content :

The collection consists of 126 photographs which were taken by Prasert Chaipikusit during his social science research about hill-tribes people in Thailand. They were taken in different period of time; 1968-1970, 1974-1977, 1984-1985, and 1998 . The material is photograph of Lisu Karen Aka Lahu and Mlabri in Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Mae Hong Son, and Uthai Thani. The picture portrayed the way of life of each ethnic group; house, food, traditional costume, ceremony, agriculture, as well as belief and ritual like spirit worship and ancestral worship.

Sumit Pitiphat

Scope and content :

The collection consists of 1031 photographs taken by Sumit Pitiphat during his ethnographic fieldwork among Tai ethnic groups in Southwest China and Southeast Asia. The fieldwork was conducted in different periods of time from 1996-2004 in Lao, Vietnam, and China.

Suriya Samutthakup

Scope and content :

813 photographs from Suriya Samutthakup's field working between 1986-1996, which was taken place from various regions of Thailand, especially northeastern Thailand. The records are classified into two series 1) The 110 photographs before 1990’s shows his work, which is based on “ethnographic whole” approach. It aims to study a community from different sides to respond to given problems. 2)The 703 photographs after 1990's were created when he was lecturer in Khonkaen University and Suranaree Technology University accordingly. All pictures derived from issue-oriented research projects, particularly on cultural materials and performances or rituals.

William J.Klausner

Scope and content :

This collection is Klausner's material that he produced when he conducted his fieldwork at Ban Nongkhon, Ubonratchathani province, in 1955-1957. The collection consist of 32 notebooks, 5 typescripts, 1 letter, and 22 photographs. His research is a study of Thai social and culture transition. So what he recorded concern with religion, ritual, belief, traditional knowledge, superstition, astrology, and villager's way of life.
