Sarynya Khammuang

Sarynya Khammuang has worked at the SAC since 2000, and she is a researcher with the Ethnic Groups Network project, the Local Museums Research and Development project, and the Community Anthropology project. She received her BA in Linguistics from Naresuan University, and she completed her MA in Linguistics at Mahidol University with the thesis, “The phonological system of the Long Neck (Kayaw) Karen at Ban Nai Soi, Amphoe Muang, Mae Hong Son province.” Before joining the SAC, Sarynya was a research and teaching assistant at Mahidol’s Institute of Language and Culture for Rural Development. Her research interests include the technical aspects of database development, community involvement in local museums, participatory community projects, and cultural safeguarding and transmission.
