After briefly revisiting the debate about the usefulness of the inventory method, this lecture then turns to a discussion of participatory inventory approaches. This part of the lecture will discuss how the inventory process can be used as a tool for documentation, awareness-raising and mapping the history and meaning of local forms of intangible heritage, as well as understanding the relationships between culture bearers, cultural expressions and the community.
