RESEARCH PROJECTS

In 2010-2011, Culture and Rights research teams conducted nine research projects, whose topics ranged from cultural heritage management to language rights and community forest movement. Some of the questions our researchers sought to address were:

  • How was the concept of cultural rights defined and understood in Thailand?
  • Who “owned” and/or controlled cultural heritage, and through what mechanisms?
  • Which groups were using the discourse of cultural rights to stake claims and why?

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS

The goal of our workshops and seminars was to promote communication among the project researchers, students, scholars, and practitioners working in the filed of cultural and rights.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS

We foster public awareness and dialogue on the issues of culture and rights in Thailand. The purpose of the Stakeholder Engagement is to share and discuss our research findings with relevant local agencies, community representatives, and scholars.

PUBLICATIONS

Culture and Rights works to promote understanding and raise awareness about cultural rights issues. We publish our research findings in both Thai and English.
