Mr. Tiamsoon Sirisrisak

Tiamsoon Sirisrisak serves as Culture and Rights researcher as well as resource people. He is currently a Lecturer at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He also serves as a member of the ICOMOS/IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes (2009 – 2012). Over the past decade, Tiamsoon has been heavily involved in researching cultural heritage, with a particular emphasis on international concepts and practices in the context of Thailand and the Asian region. His research interests include the development of conservation doctrine, concept and implementation of the World Heritage Convention, the notion of cultural landscape, heritage conservation in city planning, cultural landscapes in Thailand, conservation of old Bangkok, the role of local museum and cultural education, and the link between cultural landscape conservation and intangible cultural heritage of the ethnic groups.
